Konstantinos Kaniouras is an Officer A’ at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus. He has a solid background of over 19 years of practical experience in the field of financial services, which has been acquired in Luxembourg, Cyprus and Germany and covers both the industry as well as the regulator’s perspective on legal and regulatory aspects of fund management and asset management in general, financial innovation (digital settlement assets) and crowdfunding. Konstantinos holds a degree in law from the university of Athens and postgraduate degrees from the universities of Heidelberg (LL.M.), Mannheim (MBLT) and Luxembourg/Strasbourg (LL.M.). He has also gained practical experience as a trainee at the Greek Embassy in Luxembourg and the European General Court. During the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union he is chairing the EU Council Working Groups on Asset Management and the DLT Pilot review, which form part of the Market Integration and Supervision Package. He also was the national expert of the Republic of Cyprus in the EU Council Working Groups for the MiCA and DLT Pilot Regulation
