Professor Dr. Mladenka Balaban, born in 1972 in Belgrade, is an expert in banking, finance, and insurance. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade in 1995, earned a master’s degree in 2004, and defended her doctoral dissertation in 2007 at BK University.
He began her professional career at the CIP Traffic Institute, as a research assistant from 1996-2001. From 2003 she was employed at Evropa osiguranje as Head of the Planning and Analysis Department and from 2003-2005. in the position of CFO. From 2005-2009. she was employed at the BK University in the position of CFO. From 2012-2016. she was employed at AXA Insurance as Advisor to the CEO, Head of Training Centre and Head of Internal Audit. From 2016 to 2018, she was employed by Merkur Versicherung as Head of the Bancassurance Department. Since 2018, she has worked as an advisor to the World Bank Project at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia. In same time she has built proffesors careear. She received her first academic title of assistant professor in 2007. Currently, she is an full professor at the Belgrade Banking Academy, where she teaches corporate finance, insurance, and investment banking at the undergraduate level, as well as financial management at the master’s level.
Her research focuses on financial markets, risk management, and insurance. She has published 4 books, over 50 scientific papers, with more than 105 citations in international journals.
