Daniel Stavárek graduated with a master’s degree in Banking (2001), a Ph.D. in Finance (2004), and a Habilitation in Finance, Banking, and Investment (2007). In 2013, he was appointed Professor of Economics and Management by the President of Czechia. He teaches courses focused on finance, international finance, and financial management at all levels of study.

He has been working at the School of Business Administration in Karviná since 2001, and since 2008, he has been the Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting. From 2015 to 2023, he served as Dean of the Faculty. He is currently the Guarantor of the doctoral study program Economics and Management. From 2023 to 2025, he was the Vice Rector of the Silesian University in Opava for Science and International Relations. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Steering Committee of STARS EU – a European University Alliance.

His research activities are mainly in the field of international finance, financial management, and banking. He has authored more than 160 scholarly publications, including journal papers and book monographs.
